Friar Basketball Newsletter: Jared Bynum Reflects on Last Year and Takes A Look Ahead with the Friar Podcast, Big Games from Devin Carter and Noah Locke, A Look at PC’s Wings and Scoring Guards
Over the upcoming weeks The Friar Podcast and Friar Basketball will partner to host a series of podcasts with several of the players from the 2021-22 Friars to reflect on a historic season, learn more about their basketball journeys, and talk about what’s ahead for them.
The first interview is with Jared Bynum, PC’s All Big East guard, who shared what it was like to fight through a difficult season in 2020-21, the highs of this past year, and what it meant to hear Ed Cooley advocate so strongly for him. Bynum is set to take on a leadership role next season, and sounds optimistic for what’s ahead.
Our second podcast in this series will be posted next week. That one will feature AJ Reeves.
Providence cleaned up on the transfer portal this spring, and the competition for minutes in the backcourt should be fierce. Friar Basketball took an in-depth look at Providence’s options in 2022-23 at the scoring guard and wing spots.
Looking to see more of the incoming transfers? Here is video of Devin Carter coming up clutch against Missouri. Carter led South Carolina in scoring and rebounding in this game, while coming off of the bench.
You can also see Noah Locke scoring 21 points against Texas A&M as a sophomore. Locke made four first half 3-pointers in a game that came during one of the best stretches of his second year at Florida.
Lastly, readers can also see the latest happenings around Providence and the Big East, including recruiting news and national perspectives on PC and the rest of college basketball.
