Highlights: All-SEC Freshmen Devin Carter vs. JD Davison
Video from when future Friar Devin Carter went up against Boston Celtics' draft pick JD Davison last season
South Carolina got hot late in the season, winning four consecutive games prior to heading to Alabama on Feb. 26.
The 24th ranked Tide rushed out to a 50-27 lead against the Gamecocks, before seeing their advantage cut to 58-52 midway through the second half. Alabama eventually collected themselves and took home a 90-71 victory.
Both Providence transfer Devin Carter and Boston Celtics second round pick J.D. Davison were All-SEC Freshman last season, so I figured readers would be interested in seeing the two go head-to-head.
Carter came into this game averaging over 13 points per game during South Carolina’s four-game winning streak, but played just 16 minutes in the loss. Still, he finished with six points, five rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal.
Meanwhile, Davison played 22 minutes and went for 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists on 3-4 shooting from the field and 4-5 at the free throw line.
