Garwey Dual, Drew Fielder, and their Southern California Academy (SoCal) teammates faced a number of stiff tests this week at the Chick-fil-A Classic in South Carolina.
Thursday brought a matchup with perennial power Oak Hill Academy, in which Dual and Fielder combined for 25 points in SoCal’s 48-42 victory.
Dual led the way for the Rams, shooting 6-7 from the field and finishing with 14 points, five steals, and two assists. He took four floaters in this game and made them all. Dual’s only miss from the field came on a 3-pointer from the top of the key.
Fielder shot 4-10 (1-5 from three) and ended up with nine points and five boards in 25 minutes.
Southern California shot just 4-27 from beyond the arc, but held a 28-18 advantage in the paint.
