Nike’s Peach Jam wrapped up this weekend, with the Nightrydas out of Florida taking home the crown behind yet another terrific performance from star forward Cam Boozer (19 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 7-8 shooting). The victory came in a highly anticipated matchup between the Nightrydas and an Oakland Soldiers team with the number one player in the class of 2025 in AJ Dybantsa and the top player in the class of 2026 (Tyran Stokes). Boozer is widely considered the second best long term prospect in the class of ‘25. The victory marks the third straight year in which this Nightrydas group took home a Peach Jam title, after winning the U15 and U16 championships the previous two summers.
As noted here last week, Providence was well represented with Florida Rebels wing Jamier Jones and Expressions Elite forward Jaylen Harrell both advancing to the pool play at Peach Jam. The class of 2025 forwards are both Providence commits.
Teams competed in pools from Tuesday through Friday in an effort to reach bracket play this weekend, and both the Expressions and Florida Rebels fell a game short, going 3-2 in pool play (two teams from their pool advanced at 4-1).
The Rebels lost a heartbreaker to Drive Nation on Friday afternoon, falling 80-79, in the closing seconds after trailing by 18 with just over three minutes to play. The Rebels tied the game on a 3-pointer on their final possession, but were called for a questionable foul at the buzzer. Drive Nation converted the free throw with 0.0 left on the clock to end the Peach Jam run for the Floridians.
Here is the final sequence:
Harrell and Jones matched up earlier in the week, and while neither player was at their best, Expressions took home an 87-75 victory on Tuesday.
Here’s a look at each player since we covered them at the Peach Jam last week, with video from the past week included.
Jaylen Harrell: One thing I wrote about heading into this final stretch was Harrell’s underrated assist numbers and passing ability. That was on display for the remainder of the Peach Jam. Harrell struggled to find his shot from the field against the Rebels (in fairness, he was perfect from the free throw line), but he had five assists at halftime and ended the game with eight overall.
