Good seats were tough to come by on Saturday night when Worcester Academy hosted Brimmer and May in the semifinals of the NEPSAC AA championship tournament.

The stands were so filled that fans were standing on chairs and fitness equipment to try to get their last look at seniors TJ Power (Duke) and Tre Norman (Marquette) playing their last game at Daniels Gymnasium.

Power, Norman, and junior guard Kayvaun Mulready make up a terrific trio for Jamie Sullivan’s group — a club that earned the second seed in the AA playoffs, and improved to 26-4 on the season, with a 78-57 victory over Brimmer and May on Saturday night.

Brimmer coach Tom Nelson may have had the best team of his tenure in Chestnut Hill this season, winning 20 games behind the outstanding class of 2024 duo of Andre Mills and Bryce Dortch. The 6’4 Mills plays with ferocity and athleticism, while Dortch is a skilled 6’8 forward. Both are top 150 players in their class.

Mulready, the Providence commit, was back in action for the playoffs after nursing a sore hamstring that kept him out for a few weeks. He didn’t shoot it great from beyond the arc in this one, but it was a treat to see Mulready and the ultra-aggressive and athletic Mills going head-to-head.
