MarShon Brooks Senior Year Highlights
For as a great as MarShon Brooks was during his senior year at Providence, highlights of the 2011 first round pick from that year are tough to come by. Brooks’ final season in Providence was also the last of Keno Davis — the three-year head coach who lost control of the program before giving way to Ed Cooley.
Brooks was as good of a scorer as there was in the nation in 2011, upping is average from 14.2 points per game a junior to 24.6 his senior year. He hit shots in every way imaginable for the Friars, carrying the scoring load on a limited roster. He scored 20+ points in 26 games. Brooks scored 33 in a win over Alabama in December, 43 at Georgetown, and of course set a Big East record with 52 points (35 in the second half) versus Notre Dame.
For his efforts, Brooks was named 3rd Team AP All American, 1st Team All Big East, and went 25th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft.
Below is what, I think, is the most extensive look back at his senior year that’s available — highlights that had gone somewhat lost as we were all ready to move on from the Davis era.
