Providence Closes Out Its Home Schedule with a Loss to DePaul
In a season filled with low points, Wednesday night might have been the lowest for Providence. The Friars dropped an 80-77 game at home to a DePaul team that came into this one with a 2-16 mark in Big East play, a 4-22 record all-time in Providence, and down three regulars in Conor Enright, David Skogman, and NJ Benson.
The Friars were up nine at halftime, after leading by as many as 16 in the first half, but they once again came out of the halftime locker room flat. They were out-scored, 52-38, in the second half by the Blue Demons — a half that saw DePaul shoot 8-14 from beyond the arc, while the home team alternated between unforced errors and cold shooting (1-9 from three).
