Friar Basketball Newsletter: David Duke and the NBA Draft, a potentially good landing spot for Kris Dunn, Al Durham versus Michigan State, and more
I hope you are enjoying the content at the new Friarbasketball.com so far! We were fairly active this week between publishing new content, and continuing with interviews for our upcoming podcast series (partnering with The Friar Podcast) on the 2003-04 Friars. We have two more interviews to wrap up, hours of conversations to sift through and edit, then hopefully the series will be released in August.
As far as what was published to the site this week…
Continuing our series in which we take a look back at games of transfers Al Durham and Justin Minaya, I wrote about a solid effort from Durham’s sophomore year in which Indiana pulled a road upset of #6 Michigan State. Highlights and impressions are included in this article.
With the NBA Draft approaching, I reflected on how the news of David Duke committing to Providence set the fan base into a frenzy… and how recruiting momentum has slowed since then.
I also dug into Duke’s development and NBA Draft prospects prior to Thursday night’s draft.
Kris Dunn made news this week when he accepted his $5 million player option with the Atlanta Hawks. Dunn could be on the move, however, as Atlanta may be looking to trim salary with the pending free agency of power forward John Collins. Might the Celtics be a good landing spot for Dunn?
We appreciate your continued support of the site and look forward to what’s ahead.
