Top 40 Recruit Kur Teng to Visit Providence on Feb. 18, per On3.com
Kur Teng, an outstanding shooting guard prospect in the class of 2024, is scheduled to visit Providence for the Friars’ game against Villanova on Feb. 18, per On3.com.
Ranked in the mid-30s by most national publications, Teng is a 6’4 guard who plays for Vin Pastore, his head coach both at Bradford Christian Academy and with the Mass Rivals in the spring and summer.
As things currently stand, Teng’s recruitment is focused on Michigan State, Rutgers, and Providence. He visited MSU in the fall, and will be at Rutgers the week following his PC visit.
Providence offered Teng in October 2021. He is a Manchester, NH native who simply makes scoring look easy. Perhaps what makes Teng such a great fit (aside from his national status and pedigree) is how advanced he is at scoring off of screens. He scores off screens both at BCA and with the Mass Rivals, and Ed Cooley certainly gets his shooters looks off of all sorts of screen action. Teng has as beautiful shooting stroke, and knocks down shots off pull-ups, catch and shoot opportunities, and via a well-developed mid-range game. He’s just an advanced scorer for his age.
He is the 36th rated player in the country, according to 247 Sports, and ranks as their tenth best shooting guard in 2024.
Providence is already off to an outstanding start with its 2024 class after getting an early commitment from point guard Kayvaun Mulready, and a commitment from Teng would be another significant statement for Ed Cooley and Co.
